David Philip Caldwell (part 2)

There were four in total, three from earlier and one from while he was in the shower. The first one was from his boss, he knew it would be to see how he was. The next was from his ex, she'd been pestering him for a while now ever since her current partner, the man responsible for their marriage breaking down, had also joint the L.W.F. he wasn't sure if she was trying to mess with his head so he'd be off his game when fighting the guy or if she really wanted him back. Either way she wasn't going to win he would never take her back. he'd never stop loving her but he couldn't trust her and without trust it wouldn't work. He checked the rest of his messages. One was from Robin Banks one of the guys he worked with. Robin was the butt of many jokes however that didn't stop them being friends. They had both trained together with Greg Iron Fist Gater and so they trusted each other which in this business meant a lot. The last one was a phone message from Iron Fist himself asking how things were. David smiled while he listened to the message. Iron Fist ended by saying. "Keep training ignore the doctors." Dave laughed at that comment. Iron Fist knew him to well. Despite the fact the doctors had told Dave not to push to hard for the next few months he'd got fed up and had started to build his training and fitness levels back up. The operation he'd had four months back on his elbow was healing nicely and he didn't see why he should sit back and do nothing. He was taking it easy with the weights but the rest he was full speed ahead with. Placing the phone back on the table he walked across to his wardrobe and grabbed his favourite pair of tracksuit bottoms. Putting them on he pondered as to what he could do for the rest of the afternoon. It was only 12.45 he didn't have to be at the arena till 7pm, Dave laid on the bed and allowed his mind to wonder back to his school days. School had been hard but the afternoons once school was finished were the best. He remembered how he and his best mate Kevin used to sneak into the cinema to see the latest releases. How they never got caught was a mystery to him. That was it. He sat up and kicked his legs to the side. The cinema. He couldn't remember the last time he just chilled watching a film in a cinema just another face among many, not some special L.W.F. wrestler. Grabbing a shirt from his wardrobe and the phone off the table he made his way out of the bedroom and down the stairs, putting the shirt on as he went. He went into the kitchen and grabbed his car keys and wallet off the bench. Looking in his wallet he noticed he'd have to stop at a cash point first. Dam he thought hope no one recognises me. It wasn't long before he found a cash point. he parked his car and walked over. Upon returning to the car Dave stopped he could hear what sounded like someone crying. Walking around to the other side of the car he saw her. Sat two parking spaces down. Just sat there in the middle of the parking place knees up to her chest head buried in her arms. Slowly he made his way across.

"Are you alright miss?" He asked looking around to see if anyone else was there.

"What does it look like?" She answered sharply burying her face once more into her arms. "Stupid L.W.F. wrestling." she said to herself.

"Excuse me" Dave said shocked by her last comment. After all he'd only come across to see if she was ok or if she needed some help and that's her response.

"I'm sorry" she replied getting to her feet and wiping her eyes. "I shouldn't have snapped at you. Hell I don't even know who you are. It's just L.W.F. seems to be a major thorn in my relationship" She stopped and looked up at the tall, dark man looking down. She smiled "I'm guessing you know who L.W.F. is being a man. Every other man I know seems to"

"I've heard of them" He replied smiling, glad that she couldn't see his eyes hidden behind his shades. "Why don't you tell me what's wrong"

"Where do I start"

"How about you start by telling me why L.W.F. are being such a thorn in your relationship?"

Smiling she nodded as both of them walked over to a nearby bench. After about an hour of talking she stood up.

"Thanks for listening you were right it did help to talk about it and your right about him"

"I am?" Dave replied

"Yes I should try to compromise allow him his L.W.F. time and ask for equal time for me and if I don't get that then he is out the door."

Dave smiled and reached into his pocket. "Here." He said handing her a card as he stood up. "If you feel the need to talk again my mobile number is on there."

"Thanks" She said reaching up to plant a peck on the cheek of this guy that she still thought was too good to be true. Dave smiled as he watched her walk off.

"Wonder what she'll think when and if she finds out I'm one of these L.W.F. wrestlers that her other half loves so much." He said to himself as he made his way back to the car and headed for the cinema.
