(no title as yet) this is the 1st chapter

The wind blew harshly that cold November night, as a tall dark shadowy figure stood on top of the building opposite looking in at where she now stood. He pulled his coat tighter around himself this was however a totally instinctive thing for him to do after all dead men don’t feel the cold. He could however still feel emotions and seeing her there in the arms of another was tearing him up inside.
He’d searched for centuries to find her and here in this strange new land in this bizarre new century his search was over. There in front of his eyes stood his one true love being held in the arms of the man who centuries ago had killed her. This more than anything tore him up inside. As he watched them embrace his mind wondered back to all those years ago.
His Amelia, how he had longed to see her. Before he had gone off to fight he had asked her to marry him. While on the field earlier that day her answer had arrived. Yes. Now he was racing back to the castle. The journey that had taken nearly two days to get there was taking only half the time to get back. His heart was filled with joy as he entered the castle gates. He raced up into what would soon be there bedroom to find a ghastly site. There laid over the bed was his Amelia. She was dressed in what used to be her favourite blue dress but now it was tattered, torn, and covered in blood. She was spread over the bed her head dangling over the side, her eyes wide open. He knew the look they held, he knew it all to well. He’d seen in many times in battle, this was the look of fear. Her face was crimson as the blood flowed from the gash in her neck. Suddenly there was a loud noise out in the yard. He ran to the window and got there just in time to see Alexandra riding off laughing. ‘Alexandra’ he thought ‘my friend how could you do such a thing’. He walked over to the bed and lifted his love into his arms.
Suddenly a noise drew him back to the here and now.
“I’ll see you tomorrow Alex” she asked.
“You bet.” He kissed her gently, turned up the collar of his jacket and headed off down the street. It wasn’t till he turned the corner5 and could no longer be seen that she went back in and closed the door.
